“Instructed by the king, they set off. Then the star appeared again, the same star they had seen in the eastern skies. It led them on until it hovered over the place of the child. They could hardly contain themselves: They were in the right place! They had arrived at the right time! They entered the house and saw the child in the arms of Mary, his mother. Overcome, they kneeled and worshiped him. Then they opened their luggage and presented gifts: gold, frankincense, myrrh.” – Matthew 2:9-11 (the message version)
i’ve been pondering over these verses for a few weeks now. these familiar verses suddenly took on a new meaning. the wisemen were in tune with the Spirit, they were in the right place at the right time, and therefore they encountered the messiah and naturally responded with worship.
this year i want to be more in tune with the lord
that i might be in the right place at the right time more often
to encounter the living God
and to be drawn into worship of him
and present every gift he has given me at his feet.
